NO SUNDAY OR HOLIDAY BURIALS

Any Howland Township resident who due to medical or other reasons beyond their control are placed in a nursing home, convalescent center, extended care facility, or comparable licensed facility, or a resident that may go to a relative’s home, but who had their last individual residence within Howland Township shall be entitled to resident fees for grave opening as long as the grave was purchased while a resident and they have not established an individual residence in another location.

 

altHowland Township will be conducting a Scrap Tire Drop-Off for Howland Township Residents only. Residents may drop-off a maximum of 8 passenger tires only, with no rims at the Public Works Department located at 3600 North River Road between 8 am to 2 pm on the following dates (Monday-Friday): 

June 3 - June 7
June 10 - June 14
October 7 - October 11

HOWLAND TOWNSHIP 2024 CURBSIDE COLLECTION TIRE PROGRAM:

Howland Township will be conducting a Scrap Tire Curbside Collection for Howland Township Residents only. Residents may place curbside a maximum of 8 passenger tires only, with no rims before 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 10th. NO TRUCK TIRES will be picked up. This service will be done by the Howland Public Works Dept. and is made available through a grant from the Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management. If you have any questions you may call (330) 856-4037.

Township residents may also drop off scrap tires (same restrictions as above) at the Public Works Department located at 3600 North River Road between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. on the following dates (Monday -Friday): June 3-7, June 10-14, October 7-1. Note: these dates are for drop-off only.

Mosquito Spraying

The Howland Township Trustees announce that Alexander Pest Control (330-856-4770) has been contracted to spray for mosquitoes in Howland Township starting from Dusk to 5am on the following dates (Monday & Tuesday)

May 6 & May 7
June 3 & June 4
July 1 & July 2
Aug 5 & Aug 6
Sept 9 & Sept 10

In case of rain, the spraying will take place the following evening. Resident are encouraged to close their windows, keep pets indoors and not to leave any food outdoors during the spraying.

Mosquito Spraying

Howland Township sprays for mosquitoes during certain weeks in the summer months.  This helps us to keep the populations low and allows residents to enjoy the great outdoors and reduce the incidence of disease carried by these flying insects! It also benefits township recreation areas and businesses by making Howland Township a much more pleasant place to live, work, play and shop during mosquito season.

In case of rain, the spraying takes place the following evening. Resident are encouraged to close their windows, keep pets indoors and not to leave any food outdoors during the spraying.
