Ohio Traffic Incident Management (OTIM)

Date/Time: Thu 12/12/2019 from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM

Location: Howland Fire and EMS Training Center

169 Niles Cortland Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44484

Class Price: $0.00

Description – The OTIM training provides education to responders on the safest and most effective means of processing incident scenes to improve the safety of the responders and the motorists by quickly and efficiently clearing the scene and getting all highway lanes reopened to traffic. Using a multidisciplinary perspective, responders learn how to operate more cooperatively and collectively. The training covers many topics such as learning how the placement of response vehicles can either aid or impede other discipline’s efforts and can impact how quickly traffic flow can be restored. Responders learn about quick clearance concepts to help prevent additional injuries or delays that may result from secondary crashes in the queue of traffic.

Who Should Attend? – Anyone who responds to incidents impacting the roadway transportation system, such as Fire Departments, EMS, Law Enforcement (Police, Sheriff, Highway Patrol), DOT, Public Works, EPA, EMA, and Towing and Recovery Companies.

Important Note: If you are a Contractor working on major projects for the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), attending this version of OTIM does not fulfill the training requirements specified in Plan Note 642-45. There is a separate version of this class called Contractor OTIM Training (or TIM During MOT), which is required of all contractors working on ODOT projects that include Plan Note 642-45. Please fill out this form to request the Contractor OTIM Training.

Instructors – Instructors will vary by session date and location for these statewide classes.

Registration Information – LTAP is managing the registration process for all participants. Registrations are processed in the order they are submitted online, while seats are still available. There is no charge to attend. Please pre-register using the form below. Any registrant requiring a reasonable accommodation during training (i.e., mobility or access) should contact Ohio LTAP prior to the course date so the appropriate arrangements can be made.

Note: this abbreviated training class does not qualify as an elective or other course credit under the LTAP Roads Scholar training recognition program (however, Roads Scholar participants are still welcome to attend).
